Timeline

5000 BCE: Estimated Creation date.

5000 BCE to 4000 BCE: For a thousand years the Primordial Spirits fight amongst themselves for control over the land.

4000 BCE to 2500BCE: Humanity appears, in small tribes that hunt and forage for food. They mainly worship whichever Spirit reigned over the locality. However there is a small group that reveres an entity called the Nameless. They move underground and are not heard from again for hundreds of years.

2500 BCE to 15 BCE: The holy Quintad of Gods descends from their places in the heavens to teach humanity the ways of culture. Floundering tribes become civilizations. Balance is also achieved between the warring Spirits. Then, just as quickly as the Quintad arrived, they leave. In their place, each elects a ruler, who receives their Tet, or soul double, to rule in their place. These kings and queens are known as Avatars.

20 BCE: The Worshipers of the Nameless One reappear. They are no longer recognizable as human beings. They are now terrible monsters that swoop down on unsuspecting villages in the middle of the night, devouring everyone in a matter of hours. Word gets to the ruling Avatars and they hold council. They decide to hide their Treasures in the Underworld in order to keep them out of the wrong hands, however while trying to reach Paradise Avatar Celeste (Princess Seleste) accidentally slays the Gate Guardian and is cursed by the Goddess Kesmat to die at the hands of a descendant. She does not take the curse seriously.

18 BCE: Princess Seleste becomes the High Queen.

17 BCE: Princess Celestine is born to Seleste.

15 BCE: Princess Cosmia is born to the Seleste.

15 BCE to 0 BCE: A terrible bloody war is fought between the worshipers of the Nameless and humanity.

0 CE: Princess Cosmia becomes Avatar Celeste. In a desperate attempt to end the war once and for all she does the unthinkable and draws the taint from the Nameless into her own body, thus returning all the monsters to a human state. She seems to have no adverse side effects from this and is hailed as a hero throughout the land.

Later that year Princess Celestine contracts a mysterious illness and becomes bedridden. Seeing that her eldest daughter is in no condition to rule and fearing she may not live much longer, the High Queen names Princess Cosmia as the inheritor to the throne.

2 CE: An oracle warns Queen Seleste of approaching disaster, but she does not listen. Meanwhile Princess Cosmia suffers from long blackout periods and believes the taint of the Nameless might be causing her loose her sanity. She keeps silent, though, for fear she might loose the right to the throne.

3 CE: Princess Celestine dies. Princess Cosmia, who was very close to her sister, gives in to the taint of the Nameless to escape the pain of grief. She slays her mother and the other four Avatars at the funeral and assumes the throne. She declares all five nations united under her rule and an apparent Golden Age begins. Apparent, because only the nobility are able to reap the benefits of said Golden Age. The common people are slowly neglected. She outlaws the worshiping of the Quintad and declares the Nameless as the sole deity.

7 CE: High Queen Cosmia gives birth to a daughter, whom she names Solara. The same oracle that warned her mother also gives her a prophecy that the people would rebel and she would be executed. Knowing what happened to her mother because she did not listen she decided to tighten her grip on peasant life.

9 CE: Solara’s sister Sterla is born.

12 CE: Cosmia’s youngest daughter Selenia is born.

20 CE: Queen Cosmia has a powerful magical gem commissioned for Solara’s 13th birthday. It is called the Sunstone. The Queen hopes it will help her daughter fight off attacking peasants should any revolt occur.

22 CE: Princess Sterla’s gift is presented to her. It is called the Morning Star.

25 CE: Princess Selenia turns thirteen, and her gift is called the Moonstone. Princess Solara is given a coming of age ball. During the festivities rebels storm the palace and slay all the nobility. The Queen sees that her daughters escape but she herself is captured and executed. All three girls vanish into the mists of time and are assumed dead.

25 CE to 1025 CE: Now that the last of the Avatars is gone the Primordial Spirits once again begin to fight for the title of Supreme Being. Jadil the Winter Spirit wins dominance, and the land falls into a deep ice age that lasts for a thousand years.

1000 CE: A prophecy is made that the Celeste Avatar will return and free the land from its frozen state.
